Here's the subject of my next Thankful Generations beaded tapestry: my husband, Alan, onboard the USCG Barque Eagle in 1977. He definitely did not mind this short term assignment on this historic ship! The Neuren Tapestry is officially underway.
3-22-26: Finalized pattern and bead selection
3-29-26: Bead inventory - received the order of specific beads that were low
4-1-26: Loom warped and first rows complete
4-12-26: 25 rows complete
Total bead count will be 35,909 size 11 Miyuki Delica
Fred Neuren
My father-in-law, Fred Neuren was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1919. He attended St. Louis University where he received his Bachelors degree and DDS. Upon completing dental school he was called to active duty with the US Army, and was sent to ETO where he served as a Dental Officer with the 82nd Airborne. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
